GROUPS ONLY Exelon's Oyster Creek Generating Station and its 700 employees have been producing enough energy to power 600,000 average American homes since it went online in December, 1969. Prior to 9/11/2001, like others, this nuclear power plant offered comprehensive tours, demonstrations and exhibits for families and groups alike. While such tours are no longer available, Oyster Creek may offer presentations in the Control Room Simulator which are sure to be enlightening and provide participants with a greater understanding of what it takes safely produce the abundant, clean energy that so many depend on. This plant is scheduled to close in 2019, after 50 years of service. Meanwhile, you can treat your school, Scout, or other group to a unique educational experience. And there is no charge. Call the number above and speak with some very nice folks to make the arrangements. |
