This wonderfully preserved farm in the hamlet of Northville (Town of Riverhead) represents a typical North Fork farm from 1880 - 1910. During this period, Northville was an important farming community supplying New York City and other markets with produce shipped by rail and sea. Today, Hallockville preserves the atmosphere of a bygone era through the surviving original buildings and artifacts and through the Museum's many public programs and educational activities. This is a nice place for a family outing, and a full day School Program satisfies numerous objectives of 4th through 7th grade curricula. It includes many hands-on activities, observational, and problem-solving exercises, crafts, and games.
