Mostly for Groups, but Hayrides can be enjoyed by individuals and families at various times. Call for details.

The owners of Winding Brook Farm came up with a wonderful solution to encroaching urban and industrial development: give people a taste of the farming life. People have been enjoying hayrides here for some forty years. Now they can also enjoy a complete Guided Tour.

Winding Brook is a real live fourth generation dairy farm with some hundred cows, which are milked twice a day. In addition to its 208-acre home farm, Winding Brook farms over 600 acres, growing corn, soybeans, rye, wheat, strawberries, and other produce.

Individuals and families can enjoy a 30-minute Hayride Tour, learning about the various aspects of farming. During the Farm's Autumn Agritainment in October, the wagon goes out to the Pumpkin Patch, where visitors can pick their own. Kids and adults can enjoy a scary delight in the haunted Corn Walk of Horror and get happily lost for a bit in the Hay Maze. There's also lots of fun and entertainment. Call for this year's schedule or visit the Farm's official website for details.

Groups (20 or more people) have an even wider range of tour opportunities. A Birthday Party here includes a Hayride on a special wagon, 3-hour use of beautiful picnic facilities, sacks for sack races, and more. A Petting Farm is available for an additional fee.

Other Groups may opt for an Evening Ride under the stars. Again, a picnic area is available, which can include a bonfire for roasting hot dogs.

School Groups get an hour-long ride and tour. This includes a Milking Demonstration (kids usually get to touch the cows), a Sheep Wool Museum, and a trip to the Petting Farm. A visit here provides a unique glimpse into the farming life. Wagons hold from 25 to 30 people.
