The University of Pennsylvania's Institute of Contemporary Art is one of the nation's premier museums that is solely dedicated the art of our time. Since 1963 ICA has introduced outstanding new artists and identified important trends in visual art. Andy Warhol, Clyfford Still, Agnes Martin, Laurie Anderson, Sally Mann, and Andres Serrano are just some of the artists to have their first museum exhibitions here. The Museum's galleries present an ideal showcase for the unique work of modern artists. Some recent exhibitions have included the "History Paintings" of Cho Duck-Hyun, the first Korean artist to have an individual exhibition in an American museum, and the photographs of Boris Mihailov, revealing the dramatic social changes confronting his city of Kharkov. The Museum offers a busy calendars of special events for the family, including special tours, lectures, workshops, and other activities. Many of the workshops are for children and their families and involve creating art in the spirit of a current exhibition. Tours are Self-Guided for individuals, though Guided Tours are offered on certain days. Call for a calendar. Adult and School Group Tours can be scheduled.
