Early Lebanon County is well remembered in this outstanding museum, part of which was originally the 1773 home of Dr. William Henry Stoy, then a prominent minister and Revolutionary War doctor. The upstairs rooms of this house were used as the County's first courthouse where a young James Buchanan (15th U.S. President) practiced law.

Visitors can stroll through the "shops" and offices of early Lebanon. A Drug Store, Doctor's Office, China Shop, Dress Shop, and a Hair Cutting Shop can be visited.

The Museum displays a wide array of historic memorabilia. Fine examples of Pennsylvania German objects will be found, including furniture, quilting and weaving, fraktur, and redware. Community Industry is well-represented here too, including Blacksmithing, Farming, Carpentry, Weaving, Printing, Shoemaking, and Mining.

Other items of interest include war memorabilia, railroading, and even firefighting artifacts. Of special interest to baseball fans is Babe Ruth's Uniform Display. Other displays showcase everything from cookie cutters to an early washing machine.

Outside, visitors can relax and enjoy a picnic by the 1827 Union Canal Tunnel, the oldest existing tunnel in the United States. While no specific School Programs are available, a Guided Tour provides a wealth of history and is valuable to all students.
