Harley Davidson is, without a doubt, America's motorcycle. Here at Harley's final assembly plant, visitors can see how these marvelous machines are put together, from start to finish. Covering more than 230 acres, with 1.5 million square feet of factory area, The York plant is Harley Davidson's largest facility. More than 3,200 employees work assembling those classic Harleys. A tour takes about an hour, culminating in a display which features a variety of models, from the earliest days to the present. Of course, each is in showroom condition -- a sight to see for any biker. Non-bikers are impressed as well, and of course the tour is of educational interest to anyone involved with automotive design, history, etc. Participants must be at least 12 years old. Open-toed shoes and cameras are prohibited. A Museum-only Tour is available, and for this the above restrictions do not apply. Groups of 10 or more must make reservations. Other security measures may apply. Call for details before visiting.
