Captain Ron Robbins operates the Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center (CMWW&RC), one of the area's most complete facilities of its type. His M/V Whale Watcher is a modern 75 ft. long, 30 ft. wide catamaran designed specifically for whale and dolphin watching. Fully equipped to provide a great marine experience, this vessel includes a full galley serving hot and cold foods. She is even wheel chair accessible, and strollers are permitted. With three additional vessels, CMWW&RC can accommodate from 75 to 150 passengers per boat.

Using state-of-the-art technology, the Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center maintains one of the most sophisticated whale and marine mammal migratory tracking systems on the entire Eastern Seaboard. Communication with entire fleets of commercial fishing vessels keeps CMWW&RC aware of the animals' whereabouts.

Each passenger essentially becomes a member of the research team. Naturalists on board carefully instruct members on spotting techniques for particular species. As a result, each passenger may actually be able to provide information that will assist efforts to save the habitats of these beautiful creatures.

Three trips are made every day (4 on summer weekends) from April through December. Trips last 2 to 3 hours. What more perfect outing for a family?

School Groups and groups of all kinds can take advantage of reduced rates. Whale Watching is certainly an educational experience that everyone will enjoy.

A portion of each fare is used to support ongoing research and education. CMWW&RC maintains alliances with various environmental organizations.
