The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is the home of a remarkable collection of modern art masterpieces by such major 20th century artists as Pablo Picasso, Vasily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, and Piet Mondrian. The landmark building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright sits across from Central Park on New York's Museum Mile. With a new tower addition designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, exhibit space is greatly increased. Along with exhibitions of the permanent collections, visitors can enjoy a full schedule of Changing Exhibitions throughout the year. Past shows have featured the works of masters such as Lothar Baumgarten, Alberto Giacometti, Julio Gonzalez, Haim Steinbach, and many others. The Guggenheim Museum Highlights Tour, offered daily at Noon, guides museum-goers through the best of both the permanent collections and changing exhibitions. Visitors are welcome individually or in groups, and one-hour Tours by knowledgeable staff are available in many different languages.
