Recently renovated, this very special museum is home to 100 years of transit lore and memorabilia. Housed in an authentic 1930's Subway Station, it offers a great variety of new galleries and exhibits, many of which have interactive components that will thrill straphangers, art lovers and history lovers alike. Highlights Include: On the Streets: New York's Trolleys and Buses Moving the Millions: New York City's Subways from its Origins to the Present The Museum offers many other exhibits, covering virtually every aspect of New York's public rail transportation system. From the subways to the Els, the monumental achievments and the people who made them are presented to visitors in a beautiful, interesting and nostalgic environment that rewards the curious with a better understanding of how we got here and where we are going. Finally, the Sanford Gaster Education Center offers a new computer resource center and an area for conducting workshops and hands-on activities for youngsters.
