While there are no exhibitons to be found at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP), students and researchers will find a wealth of information on colonial, early national, and continual regional, Pennsylvania and family history.  It is one of the largest family history libraries in the United States, and offers a manuscript collection renowned for its 17th-, 18th-, and 19th-century holdings.

With more than 500,000 books, 300,000 graphic works, and 15 million manuscript items, HSP is one of the nation's premier non-governmental repositories of documentary materials.  It is also one of the oldest historical societies in the nation, serving as an invaluable research and educational facility since 1824.
