Explore the faith and practices of the Mennonite Church and its relationship to the Pennsylvania Dutch community. A Walk-Through exhibit area includes several beautiful and significant interactive displays. Called "Bringing Love to Life -- Mennonites on a Journey of Peace," the exhibit includes a video of an early Anabaptist martyr and a recording of an acappella rendition of a favorite Mennonite hymn. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of The Hebrew Tabernacle, a magnificent reproduction accurately created with furnishings designed from biblical descriptions. A life-size wax figure of the Hebrew High Priest helps to recreate the ancient ritual at the Altar of Incense. Guides explain the history, construction, function, and spiritual significance of the tabernacle and its furnishings. More than 30,000 people visit the Tabernacle annually. The Ark of the Covenant, one of the most important religious objects of all time, is beautifully recreated, as is the Parokheth Veil. In addition to the exhibits, visitors can enjoy a 20-minute movie, "Postcards From a Heritage of Faith." . Individuals, families and groups, including School Groups, are welcome here. Call about special Amish Country Tours to nearby sites such as Churches, Water Wheels, Historic Sites, and much more. Visitors can also arrange to stay with a Mennonite family.
