This is a wild and rugged 247-acre preserve with outcroppings and cliffs, a steep hemlock ravine, woodland pools, and many other beautiful features that support an abundance of wildlife. As with most properties owned by the Nature Conservancy, the Meyer Preserve has become part of that tiny percentage of land that will be minimally disturbed by the hand of man. Thus, there are no picnic or toilet facilities. The Preserve Director leads educational walks through the woods from time to time, but there are no formal educational programs. This is a gorgeous spot to be enjoyed by hikers, photographers, and serious students of the earth sciences. Groups may bring their own naturalists for a customized program.
