Sturgis Pretzel House |

Julius Sturgis established the nation's first commercial pretzel bakery. The tiny bakehouse that was built in 1784 in Lititz grew into a large factory and set the pretzel-making industry into motion. Today the modern plant bakes its pretzels in conveyor-fed tunnel ovens, though the original "soft pretzel" is still hand made and baked in the original 200-year old ovens. Visitors can view the pretzel making process and even twist a pretzel to win a Pretzel Twisters Diploma.
